🗓️Best time to visit
Czechia is a temperate continental climate: warm summers (22–26°C), cold snowy winters, and Prague sitting in a river valley that leaves its autumn mornings misty. April–June and September–October are the two best windows — comfortable weather with fewer crowds than the July–August peak, when Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square are packed. December is the exception worth the cold: the Christmas markets transform the old squares entirely, and prices sit clearly below Western Europe. For nature, the Bohemian highlands run several degrees cooler than Prague and hold snow for longer.
🕌 For the Muslim traveler
Halal food: Moderate in Prague (Middle Eastern spots near Wenceslas); rare beyond.
Prayer places: Few prayer rooms in Prague; rely on your lodging.
Friday is an official holiday: No
🌙Ramadan & Eid
Limited prayer rooms in Prague; rely on lodging and a few Middle Eastern spots.
🎭Culture tips
Currency is koruna, not euro. The Old Town packs out by noon — the city is loveliest before 9am.
💳Cards & payments
Koruna, not euro; cards very common. Apps: Lítačka, Bolt.
📲Apps & internet
Everything works. Uber, Bolt and Liftago in Prague; PID Lítačka app for tram/metro tickets.
🚗Driving there
Traffic keeps to the right side of the road, as in the Gulf (steering wheel on the left); IDP advised. Prague is walking and trams — a car is a burden inside it.
💵Tipping culture
~10% customary, stated when paying.
📶SIM & eSIM
T-Mobile and O2 — prepaid (~EUR 10). eSIM available.
🚇Getting around
Trams and metro are excellent and cheap; central Prague is all walking.
💰 Approximate cost
Good hotel EUR 70–140, meal EUR 8–18 — great value for a city this beautiful.

🛡️ Safety
Safe; watch pickpockets on Charles Bridge and Tram 22, and skip bad exchange offices — pay by card.
⚠️ Key laws before you travel
Tourist exchange offices are a famous bad-rate trap — use cards or bank ATMs. Drinking is banned in some squares.
ℹ️ Laws change — verify with official sources; this is not legal advice.
💊 Restricted medications
Personal meds are allowed only in trip-length amounts. Codeine-based opioids and ADHD stimulants (methylphenidate: Ritalin, Concerta) need a doctor-certified prescription copy or Health Ministry import permit. Melatonin ≥0.5mg/dose now counts as medicine, not a supplement (SÚKL). Pseudoephedrine meds are ID-logged, capped monthly.
⚠️ Guidance only — always verify with the official source before traveling.
