The spirit of the place

Rahhala is an honest travel friend: we praise what earns it and flag what annoys, without hype or smearing. Write as you would advise your brother before his trip.

What makes a great review?

A specific personal experience: when did you go? With whom? What surprised you, what disappointed? 'Clean hotel but breakfast jams after 8am' beats 'amazing!' a thousand times. You get one general review per country, plus one review for each city you've experienced — edit them whenever you visit again.

Review or question?

A review = something you lived. A question = something you want to know. If your sentence ends in a question mark, it belongs on the Ask board — community answers arrive faster there.

The trust ladder

Every useful contribution raises your reputation and tier: a review, an answer, an approved place, a local phrase, a dish. Points unlock recognition — your rank on the leaderboard and your badges — they are not currency and cannot be bought.

What gets removed, and why?

Phone numbers (protecting everyone from harassment and fraud), naming-and-shaming individuals (criticize the service, not the person), disguised promotion (identify yourself if it's your business), fake reviews, and nightlife/alcohol venues (we're family-oriented — they appear only as avoidance advisories or legal warnings that help travelers).

Your experience updates the guide

Our favorite feature: when your review carries a new factual update ('the museum now opens Fridays'), you may later find it on the guide page itself. Your content always remains yours; the Platform integrates factual updates under the license set out in the Terms of Use — and if you delete your account, your name is removed from your contributions while what was integrated into the guide stays on, serving those after you.

Reporting and appeals

See a violation? The report button sits beside every piece of content. Moderation here works in two layers: automated checks at the moment of publishing, plus review by the Platform's staff. Had content hidden automatically and think it unfair? Object via Contribute and a human will review it — sensitive decisions are only ever made with human review.

Your privacy, your hand

The privacy switch in your profile hides your map and trip log from others. Your saved list ('want to visit') is always private regardless of profile visibility. And 'Export my data' hands you a full copy anytime.
