🗓️Best time to visit
May–June and September: warm sea without July–August's crush and doubled prices.
📸Top activities & landmarks
- Promenade des Anglais on foot or by bike
- The old town and Cours Saleya morning market
- Castle Hill for the panorama
- Day trips: Monaco, hilltop Èze, Cannes
🏨Where to stay
On the Promenade for the view (priciest), Carré d'Or for balance; families favor aparthotels near Avenue Jean Médecin.
⚠️Tips & warnings
The beach is pebbles, not sand — water shoes are essential and you will be surprised. The coastal train beats driving (parking is scarce and dear), and some streets around the station feel sketchy late.
📍 On the ground
Getting around: Tram Line T2 (blue) runs directly between Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (Terminals 1 and 2) and the city center/Port Lympia in 20–30 minutes, every 7–8 minutes during the day, from about 5:30am until just after midnight — easier and cheaper than a taxi. Tram Line T1 serves the old town and the Cimiez district. The coastal TER train is excellent for Monaco, Cannes and Antibes day trips, and beats driving since parking in Nice is scarce and expensive.
Halal & prayer places: A genuine halal scene, not just a token option. The densest cluster of halal restaurants sits near the train station, roughly bounded by Rue Georges Clemenceau, Rue Auber and Avenue Thiers, with further options in the old town along Boulevard Gambetta. Several active mosques serve the city, the largest being Mosquée En-Nour, alongside the Madeleine Mosque and Al Baraka Mosque.

Cost figures: 2026 prices: single tram/bus ticket €1.70 (rechargeable card €2 one-time), a casual bite (pizza slice or sandwich) €4–8, a full casual sit-down meal €15–22, mid-range restaurant €20–30 per person. The coastal train to Monaco runs about €4 one-way.
