Getting around: From Tbilisi: long bus ~5 hours (15–20 GEL), or rental car (better for flexibility). The nearby Zugdidi airport (1 hour). Within Mestia: small center, walkable. Climbing hikes are long — start early with a local guide.
Halal & prayer places: Virtually nonexistent — Mestia is a remote, tiny mountain town with no real religious infrastructure. Restaurants are purely traditional (khash, soups). No realistic halal options; advance planning and asking guesthouse owners is essential.
