🗓️Best time to visit

Georgia is three climates separated by altitude and sea: Tbilisi sits in an inland valley passing 33°C in July and August; Batumi on the Black Sea is humid subtropical with rain even in summer; and the Greater Caucasus (Kazbegi, Gudauri, Svaneti) holds 15–22°C at the height of summer, which is what draws Gulf visitors. May–September is the season for mountains and landscapes, while December–March is skiing at Gudauri and Bakuriani at prices below the Alps. September–October is the Kakheti grape harvest: rural atmosphere, ideal weather and fewer crowds than peak summer.

🕌 For the Muslim traveler

Halal food: Halal restaurants available in Tbilisi and Batumi (many Turkish/Azeri); ask before ordering at local spots.

Prayer places: Historic Tbilisi Mosque in the old town; mosques in Batumi and Marneuli.

Friday is an official holiday: No

🌙Ramadan & Eid

No change to restaurant hours or public life. Tbilisi Mosque hosts communal iftars, and Eid passes quietly outside Muslim neighborhoods.

🎭Culture tips

Georgian hospitality is legendary. Weekend is Saturday–Sunday; English is limited outside the capital.

💳Cards & payments

Cards are accepted in Tbilisi and Batumi; cash is necessary in villages and the highlands. ATMs are common and exchange is easy.

📲Apps & internet

Bolt is the main ride app (far cheaper than taxis). All global services work.

🚗Driving there

Traffic keeps to the right side of the road, as in the Gulf (steering wheel on the left). An IDP is legally required alongside your license. Rentals are cheap (from USD 25/day); mountain roads need 4WD and winter caution.

💵Tipping culture

10% is customary; some restaurants add it automatically — check the bill.

📶SIM & eSIM

Magti and Silknet sell at the airport at fair prices (~USD 10 for a big bundle). eSIM available.

🚇Getting around

Bolt app within cities; affordable private drivers for mountain trips.

💰 Approximate cost

Budget-friendly: roughly SAR 150–350 per person per day.

ℹ️ Prices are approximate and subject to change

🛡️ Safety

Very safe with low crime; avoid the breakaway border regions (Abkhazia, South Ossetia).

⚠️ Key laws before you travel

Photographing border and military installations is forbidden. Driving under any alcohol influence is severely punished.

ℹ️ Laws change — verify with official sources; this is not legal advice.

💊 Restricted medications

Careful: Georgia criminalizes some strong painkillers (codeine derivatives, undocumented tramadol) — carry a translated prescription and only trip-sized quantities.

⚠️ Guidance only — always verify with the official source before traveling.

🆘 Emergency & your embassy

Unified emergency: 112

Your embassy (🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia): طوارئ السعوديين بالخارج / Saudi emergencies abroad: 00966920033334 — الرقم الموحد للخدمات / services: 00966920011114 — أقرب سفارة وأرقامها المحلية / nearest mission & local numbers: saudiembassy.sa + تطبيق MOFA
