⚠️Tips & warnings
Bolt is cheap and everywhere. Azeri food suits Gulf palates (kebab, plov) and is mostly halal; malls are modern.
📍 On the ground
Getting around: A clean cheap metro on BakiKart, with kindly-priced Bolt/Uber. Old City and the boulevard are pure walking. Gabala and Shamakhi runs need a day driver.
Halal & prayer places: Muslim-majority with broadly halal food, though Russian/European restaurants' meat may not be halal-slaughtered — local and Turkish spots are the safe bet, concentrated around Nizami Street and the Old City.
