🗓️Best time to visit
Denmark is a mild maritime climate, and what matters most for Gulf travellers is not temperature but light: in June and July daylight stretches to about seventeen hours with sunset after ten at night, effectively doubling usable sightseeing hours, while December manages barely seven hours and sets around half three in the afternoon. May–September is the season (17–23°C), crisp rather than hot — but rain is possible on any day, so a waterproof layer is essential even in summer. Coastal wind also makes it feel several degrees colder than the reading.
🕌 For the Muslim traveler
Halal food: Available in Nørrebro and around Copenhagen (shawarma and Middle Eastern).
Prayer places: Mosques in Copenhagen; rely on lodging elsewhere.
Friday is an official holiday: No
🌙Ramadan & Eid
Copenhagen mosques hold taraweeh; iftar around Nørrebro.
🎭Culture tips
Fully contactless — you may never touch cash. Renting a bike is the most local way to see the city.
💳Cards & payments
Fully contactless. Apps: DOT Tickets, Donkey Republic bikes.
📲Apps & internet
Everything works except Uber — it left Denmark; use Dantaxi/Viggo taxis and the DOT transit app. Contactless payment is universal.
🚗Driving there
Traffic keeps to the right side of the road, as in the Gulf (steering wheel on the left), but Copenhagen is bikes and metro — a car is pointless inside it.
💵Tipping culture
Not expected at all — service is legally included.
📶SIM & eSIM
Lebara and Telenor — prepaid (~EUR 15). Everything is contactless anyway.
🚇Getting around
A 24h driverless metro plus S-trains; everything is close and the city is pancake-flat.
💰 Approximate cost
Pricey: good hotel EUR 150–280, meal EUR 20–40. Tivoli entry ~EUR 20 before rides.

🛡️ Safety
One of the safest countries anywhere; just mind the bike lanes.
⚠️ Key laws before you travel
Full face covering is banned by the 2018 law. Bikes rule in practice — stepping into their lanes is the tourist's riskiest offence.
ℹ️ Laws change — verify with official sources; this is not legal advice.
💊 Restricted medications
Melatonin, an everyday OTC supplement in the Gulf, is prescription-only medicine in Denmark. Codeine, tramadol, benzodiazepines (Xanax/Valium) and ADHD stimulants (Ritalin/Adderall) are classed as euphoriant substances: carry a documented prescription, cap at a 30-day supply when entering in person, and never order them by mail.
⚠️ Guidance only — always verify with the official source before traveling.
🆘 Emergency & your embassy
