Seafront hotels work well for a city-and-beach mix; Vlora runs generally cheaper than Saranda and less crowded in summer.
⚠️Tips & warnings
Stop at the point where the two seas meet (near Cape Linguetta) — a rare sight of two visibly different water colors converging.
📍 On the ground
Getting around: Frequent buses and furgons from Tirana (~2–2.5 hours, ~500–700 lek). The long seafront and old town are walkable, but heading south along the Riviera road (Dhërmi, Himara) needs a furgon or rental car.
Halal & prayer places: Fair to good — the Muradie Mosque (1537–42, designed by the same architect, Mimar Sinan) in the center is a historic and active landmark, plus the smaller Neshat Pashaj Mosque nearby. Seafront seafood restaurants serve fresh Ionian catch as a safe halal option, and scattered declared-halal spots exist, though less densely than Tirana.
