⚠️Tips & warnings

Book the ferry ahead in peak summer season, and halal availability here is far weaker than Vancouver's — don't assume it.

📍 On the ground

Getting around: On Vancouver Island — reached from Vancouver via a BC Ferries crossing from Tsawwassen terminal (~90 minutes) after a ~45-minute drive to the terminal, or a short domestic flight. BC Transit buses cover the city and the gardens. No car is needed within downtown itself.

Halal & prayer places: Very small — only one mosque (Masjid al-Iman on Quadra Street) and quite limited declared halal options compared to nearby Vancouver. Planning meals or stocking up from Vancouver is advisable.

Local safety: Same as country →

Cost figures: 2026 prices: BC Ferries (foot passenger) ~$18–20 one-way, Butchart Gardens admission $25–40 depending on season, casual meal $15–25.
