⚠️Tips & warnings
The city is Soviet-planned and broad-avenued — dirt-cheap Yandex Go is your friend. One-two days suffice, then the Afrosiyob fast train to Samarkand (2h) — book early, it sells out.
📍 On the ground
Getting around: The Moscow-style metro is cheap and a sight in itself (the stations are attractions), with dirt-cheap Yandex Go covering the rest. The Afrosiyob rail station sits south of center — allow 30 minutes at rush hour.
Halal & prayer places: Default halal at local spots; international chains and Russian restaurants vary — ask. Chorsu bazaar is ringed by reliable local eateries.
