⚠️Tips & warnings
The Taktsang hike is a 3–4 hour climb with a big elevation gain — start at dawn, and carry enough water even if you take the horse for half the way.
📍 On the ground
Getting around: Bhutan's only international airport sits here — the mountain-ringed landing is among the world's most technically demanding, flown only by specially certified pilots. The valley partly walks, with a licensed car for the rest.
Halal & prayer places: Very limited — Le Meridien Paro prepares halal only on advance request; no other declared options near the monastery.

Cost figures: 2026 prices: no official cable car to Taktsang exists — it's a traditional hike only; a horse for the first half ~$20–25, lunch at the midway Taktsang cafeteria ~$10–15.
