🗓️Best time to visit

Late May–early September for swimming; July–August peak is crowded with Croatian-transit tourists.

📸Top activities & landmarks

  • The main Neum Beach
  • The quieter Škvar Beach
  • The seafront promenade and waterfront restaurants
  • A natural stopover on the Mostar–Dubrovnik route

🏨Where to stay

Beachfront hotels directly on the waterfront are noticeably cheaper than the Croatian coast.

⚠️Tips & warnings

Best used as a transit stop or a one-to-two-night pause between Mostar and Dubrovnik, not a standalone week-long destination.

📍 On the ground

Getting around: No airport — reached via the coastal highway by rental car or bus (Mostar ~1.5 hrs, Dubrovnik ~1 hr). The town is small and flat, easily walkable along the seafront.

Halal & prayer places: Essentially none — there's no local Muslim population or mosque in town, so most restaurants serve pork and alcohol as a routine part of their Croatian-coast-style menu. A few restaurants (Laguna, Jopi, Odisej) are known to accommodate halal requests when asked directly, but don't expect a ready-made halal scene.

Local safety: Same as country →

Cost figures: 2026 prices: a coastal fish meal 20–30 KM, a beachfront hotel room €60–120/night in summer — noticeably cheaper than Dubrovnik.

⏱️How many days?
