Never skip the two mandatory acclimatization days in Namche no matter how fit you are — altitude sickness is about ascent speed, not fitness.

Getting around: A dramatic flight into Lukla airport (among the world's most weather-dependent and demanding) followed by roughly two days of trekking. There are no roads at all — walking or helicopter are the only ways in.
Halal & prayer places: Completely absent — no halal restaurants anywhere in the Everest region; vegetarian meals and local Sherpa staples are the only options.

Cost figures: 2026 prices: Sagarmatha National Park permit ~$30, a trekking-lodge meal $6–15 (pricier each day higher up), a basic lodge $5–15/night.
