Getting around: The MVV network (U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram) is clean, reliable, and covers the center well; a single ticket within zone M (the inner city) costs €4.20 (2026). The S1 and S8 lines alternate to the airport every 10 minutes, but the zone-M single ticket doesn't cover it — you need a zone M-5 ticket at €14.30, or the Airport-City-Day-Ticket at €16.30 if you'll use transit more than once that day. Uber/taxi from the airport runs roughly €60–80 (it's about 25 miles out).

Halal & prayer places: The Bahnhofsviertel (around the main station) is the heart of the halal scene — halal butchers alongside Turkish, Arab, Afghan, and Uyghur restaurants, notably Kababji, Slemani Grill, Kashgar, and Tarboosh. Several active mosques serve the area (the Islamic Centre of Munich, Al-Rahma Mosque, and smaller masjids in Ludwigsvorstadt), but the density concentrates around the station — the rest of the city is far thinner than Berlin.
