⚠️Tips & warnings
Limerick isn't a must-see on its own compared to other Irish cities - most visitors treat one day, or using it as a base for the Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty, and Adare, as plenty. Stick to the central tourist areas (King's Island, the riverfront, city centre) and avoid wandering aimlessly at night outside them. The Milk Market only runs at full swing Friday through Sunday, so plan around that. Always carry a rain jacket - Irish weather shifts fast in any season. King John's Castle tickets are sometimes discounted when bundled with Bunratty, so check combo options before buying.

Getting around: The closest airport is Shannon (25km), linked to central Limerick by regular buses (Route 343 and Expressway 51) in about 30-40 minutes. From Dublin Airport, a direct CityLink coach (Route 712) takes roughly 2.5 hours, or take the train from Dublin Heuston to Limerick's Colbert Station in about 2 hours. Within the city, the centre is compact and easily walkable, and the FreeNow app works well for taxis. For day trips to the Cliffs of Moher and Bunratty, booking an organized tour coach (Paddywagon, Railtours Ireland) is usually easiest since direct public transit connections are limited.
Halal & prayer places: Halal options are limited compared to Dublin but present - a handful of halal restaurants (mostly Pakistani/South Asian: kebab, pizza, Indian) clustered in the city centre, and one mosque (the Limerick Islamic Culture Centre) serving as a prayer and community space. Best to confirm halal certification directly with each restaurant before ordering; larger supermarkets carry some halal-labeled meat.
