🗓️Best time to visit

Anse Source d'Argent glows in low afternoon light; high tide deepens its pools for swimming.

📸Top activities & landmarks

  • Anse Source d'Argent between granite boulders
  • L'Union Estate and its tortoises
  • Grand & Petite Anse for the adventurous
  • Motor-free island lanes

🏨Where to stay

Warm Creole houses outnumber hotels — two nights give you the island after the day-trippers sail off.

⚠️Tips & warnings

The east beaches (Grand/Petite Anse) have dangerous unguarded currents — more for sitting in awe than swimming. Reef-safe sunscreen is now the expectation.

📍 On the ground

Getting around: Ferry from Praslin (~15 min) or straight from Mahé. No cars — the bicycle (~$10/day) is life, with electric carts for non-pedallers. Everything is fifteen minutes from everything.

Halal & prayer places: None — grilled-fish shacks and fruit are the daily fare; houses cook on request.
