🏨Where to stay
One night in Guilin near the Muslim quarter for access to Chongshan Mosque and its halal dining, then a move to Yangshuo river-view guesthouses amid the karst scenery.
⚠️Tips & warnings
Book the Li River cruise with passport details in advance — same-day purchase often fails in peak season. The 4–5 hour cruise is fairly long: bring food if the boat has no halal option.
📍 On the ground
Getting around: Guilin Liangjiang International Airport connects directly to Yangshuo by shuttle bus (¥50, 90 min, roughly hourly departures) or taxi (¥260–400). The high-speed train links Guilin North to Yangshuo station in just 30 minutes. Inside Yangshuo, bicycles and electric scooters are the common way to cover the countryside.
Halal & prayer places: Real and historic — the Muslim quarter on Xicheng Road and Chongshan Road holds the Guilin Ancient Mosque plus several others (Maping, Chongshan, Xixiang), with Endian Halal Restaurant by Chongshan Mosque and the Islam Restaurant run by the local Islamic Association. Guilin's Muslim cuisine is its own tradition spanning 100+ beef, poultry and seafood dishes.
