Getting around: From Malta International Airport, take the direct "TD1" bus to Ċirkewwa (about 1h15) or a taxi (about 45 min), then the 25-minute Gozo Channel ferry to Mġarr Harbour; ferries run roughly every 30 minutes by day, 24/7. On the island, local buses link villages to Victoria, ride-hailing apps like Bolt work, and renting a car is the easiest way to reach scattered beaches and villages.

🏨 Where do Gulf travelers stay?: Victoria (Rabat) is the capital and shopping hub, centered on the historic Citadel; Mġarr is the ferry port with seafront restaurants; Xlendi is a quiet coastal village with most of the island's halal options; Marsalforn is the largest beach resort town with a promenade and hotels; Xagħra is a rural village near the Ġgantija temples, good for families; San Lawrenz and Dwejra sit near the dive sites.

Halal & prayer places: Halal options within Gozo itself are quite limited — local directories list only about three restaurants offering halal choices (in Xlendi and Għajnsielem), far fewer than on mainland Malta. Naturally halal-friendly Maltese dishes like lampuki (mahi-mahi) fish, aljotta fish soup, and ftira bread are a reliable fallback.

Local safety: Gozo is generally very safe, but take care walking the rocky coastal cliffs (e.g. Dwejra and the Blue Hole area), where currents can be strong and edges unprotected — avoid swimming there without experience or a local guide.
